In 2014, Vien and Dan created the Charge Ahead Coalition.

This statewide program gives rebates in low-income communities to help people move from gasoline cars to electric vehicles (EVs) or public transportation.

We spent six months creating the coalition and nine months passing SB 1275 (de León), the law that codified Charge Ahead’s policy goals. To this day, Charge Ahead is working to ensure the program’s success.
